The DECC has been expanding a cross-professional team of senior nurses and physiotherapists to enhance healthcare and rehabilitation services. Through this service model, the Dementia Community Support Scheme was launched to provide appropriate support services to elderly persons with dementia and their carers in the community as referred by the Hospital Authority.

JC JoyAge: Jockey Club Holistic Support Project for Elderly Mental
Since 2016, DECC has launched the JC JoyAge: Jockey Club Holistic Support Project for Elderly Mental Wellness (“JoyAge Project”) initiated and funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club for caring of the emotions and mental wellness of the elderly. The JoyAge Project aims at engaging elderly with emotional distress in the community, providing them with services including case counselling, psychotherapy group and training of Peer Supporters to pay visits in order to relieve the elderly emotions and enhance their resilience and mental wellness.
